San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School

San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School’s special education program supports all students with special needs. Our inclusive curriculum allows students to achieve their greatest potential. Early identification of learning disabilities or developmental delays helps our school staff manage the learning process more effectively. Proper accommodations and learning strategies allow students to progress at the same pace as their classmates. We support students with advanced teaching tools and resources and help them overcome mental, physical, and emotional challenges.

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Special education teachers collaborate with parents and general education teachers to design Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The IEP is the best learning strategy for an individual student. Students have a better chance of success when parents/guardians are actively involved in their child’s educational plan. All IEPs are carefully monitored to document progress, successes, and areas for improvement. The school fosters partnerships with families through open and consistent two-way communication.

Parent/Guardian Involvement

Parent/guardian cooperation with San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School forms the strong foundation for successful classroom performance. School-family partnerships help lift students with special needs to new academic, physical, emotional, and social heights. Students experience significant academic gains as they are nurtured and supported throughout the learning process. For optimal student success, parents/guardians and teachers should identify disabilities early, accommodate them, and continuously monitor progress.

We provide students with the personalized attention they need to succeed in our curriculum. Our special education program focuses on each child’s unique abilities and diverse needs. Teachers use the latest and most effective teaching techniques to enhance students' classroom experience and overall learning potential. New ideas, feedback, suggestions, and questions from parents/guardians are welcomed and encouraged.
